Fresco

An open experimental community

Design better
environments.

Run experiments. Improve how we live. Fresco explores how intentionally designed digital, social, and eventually physical environments can make healthy, educated, connected, creative lives easier.

The premise

We keep asking people to change inside systems designed for the opposite.

Exercise

Make movement social and nearby, instead of adding another reminder.

Learning

Turn a vague intention into one relevant, self-chosen next question.

Loneliness

Create a reason to do something together, not another feed to scroll.

Contribution

Match useful problems with people who want to help solve them.

What if movement began with belonging?

Twenty-four illustrative participants join small walking groups for 30 days. The numbers below demonstrate how Fresco reports evidence; they are not real trial findings.

Society as a living design

There is no final design.

Fresco is not a finished model for society. It’s a process for discovering better ones. Every assumption remains open to evidence, including the ideas that inspired Fresco.

Digital first

We do not need a city to begin.

Our first environment is one people already spend enormous time inside: the digital environment. We can test the method here, learn cheaply, and publish the failures.

Open knowledge

The project must remember what it learns.

Software, assumptions, experiments, research, results, and decisions remain inspectable. Git history and structured knowledge create scientific version control for an evolving society.
